There is an alternet world we have emraced as a generation.
The internet has become as common as breathing and sleeping.
We can type faster than we can write.
We can fill out quizes quicker than a job application.
We google people the moment, or worse before, we meet them.
We can buy icons that will represent authenticity without ever having to be open
We can control what people know about us and stay completely hidden from the real world
We can avoid community by closing a browser window
We can reject people in one move of a curser.
We can find out if we're hot or not and feel better about judging those who don't measure up
We have the privialge to look into any window and anybook
But We traded the risk of face to face vonerability with one another
For the freedom from consiquence in a real community
We have the world at our fingertips and hide in our livingrooms
The pain for our generation is becoming less and less connected
Facebook is the new wave hello and goodbye
Myspace is the customised poster for our personal lives
Plenty-a -fish.com is the singles bar down the street
We can order food, shop for shelter, have online relationships, buy or trade sex, make money, loose money, train in new careers, find lost friends, offend old friends, fill out tests to find out why we are the way we are, endulge in fantisy that are not even our own, we can travel, we can learn, we can explore ....we can do so much
With all this freedom in the internet world what happens when we loose the interest and skills we need to live in the real one?
